momoko DOLL

"momoko" is the real-fashion doll in 1/6 scale (height approximately 27cm) that reflects the trends of contemporary Tokyo, produced by Namie Manabe who is the art director of "PostPet" known for its pink teddy bear.
Since her debut in August 2001, "momoko" had been widely accepted as an indies doll not only by doll collectors but also by women in the 20¡Çs to 30¡Çs who were not interested in fashion dolls until then.
As a stylish fashion doll or as an art; stoic precision in her fashion style and accessories are recognized in various ways. In addition to making CM appearances and modeling, she is active in crossovers with fashion brands, artists and musicians.
In April 2005, she made her major scene debut as the new-born "momokoDOLL" from "Sekiguchi" which is known for "Monchhichi".
Currently she is growing into the leading brand of fashion doll.

Art Director / momoko Producer.
She established "PetWORKs" in 1998 with a media artist, Kazuhiko Hachiya and an engineer, Takashi Koki. Since then, she has been in charge of art direction for the e-mailing software, "PostPet".
In 2001, her hobby led to the creation of the fashion doll ¡Èmomoko¡É. With no business background in doll manufacturing and retail, she continues to present the very activities of mass-production of industrial product called dolls as a work itself.
